TWO HOSES by Nina Zaech

Jersey based Artist Nina Zäch grew up in Switzerland in the middle of high mountains. Her mother is a ceramist and her father an object artist. After studying and working in human resources and hotel management Nina started only in 2019 her own art projects.

Nina’s artworks are either of conceptual nature or abstract studies inspired by mountains, geological formations, wood structure, human body, food and mass in general. The extension and fall of a mass, its volume and flow fascinate her. She likes to use minimal and optical elements to depict the characteristics of a mass. She loves the freedom of abstraction, lines, curves, 3dimensional and optical design. Often her works have something playful or eye challenging. Everything she creates is done by imagination and the free flow of her hand, sketched with pen and pencil, and later transferred to canvas, wood panel, lino or paper. She loves working manually and she enjoys the whole process from first scribbles to finished artwork.

Her main mediums are painting with acrylics (often combined with taping) and linoprinting. All mediums she uses are a means to an end, in other words: each medium has a different touch and visual effect. Nina chooses the medium depending on the project design and idea.
